So Am I
So. Am. I. Executive Workshop – Learn to use the Five Human Values to live wholesomely.
Welcome to a world that is big enough to accommodate all of us and yet it falls short of fulfilling our ever-increasing greed of needs and wants. According to the World Inequality Report 2018, since 2015, the richest 1% owned more wealth than the other 99% of the planet. About 42 people own the same amount of wealth as the poorest 3.7 billion people!
So, quite contrary to perceptions, inequalities and poverty are rising across the world. More people stay hungry than we can even imagine.
A new UN Report says that each time we eat a meal, 821 million or 1 in every 9 people go without a meal. There are wars being fought everywhere, the world lost almost half a million people (437,000) as a result of intentional homicide, according to a study by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Depression is at a rise, effecting more than 300 million people worldwide, according to WHO.
This is only the beginning of the shape of things to come, for the rapid change is still half a decade away! In such rapid flux times, there is a need to revisit, repurpose and repose our faith in the strength of foundational Human Values and their ability to partner us in navigating the choppy times ahead.
It is now time to relook at Religion and Spirituality from both perspectives:
The transactions of rituals, customs, traditions and culture, and
The transformation of character building, strengthening and building a better society and the world at large.
In the increasingly VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world, the Human Values of Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-Violence represent the most time (immemorial) tested guiding beacons in our decision making at Work and in our Personal lives.
How can the people trapped in their daily transactions become and remain aware of their innate spirituality and its potential power of infinite happiness, bliss?
Leveraging the power of these eternal Human Values, we can rekindle the spirit of humanity within humans; re-create ‘Trust, Joy, Peace and Tranquillity’ within!
It is with these Objectives that the Sri Sathya Sai International Centre for Human Values is delighted to announce the “So Am I” Workshops beginning January 2019.
